Ringkasan

Customer: I just saw on the news that the government will check on credit card activity, is this true?

A: This is related to the issuance of Ministry of Finance Regulation (PMK) 39/PMK.03/2016 on Obligations of Card Issuers to Report Cardholders’ Transaction Data to the Director General Tax. Nevertheless, the cardholders do not need to worry as long as the obligation to pay the tax has been fulfilled. According to socialization by the Director General Tax, credit card transactions data is required as one of the methods to evaluate income and Taxpayer Asset.

Customer: Will the privacy of my credit card activity and my credit card data be secured?

A: The data privacy and security of the cardholders will always be our priority. The mechanism of data submission to Director General Tax will be encrypted and using secure media. We will protect all information by ensuring its security physically, electronically and by procedure that is in accordance with the laws.

Customer: Could you please clarify the news from the finance ministry on 22nd of March?

A: This is related to the issuance of Ministry of Finance Regulation (PMK) 39/PMK.03/2016 on Obligations of Card Issuers to Report Cardholders’ Transaction Data to the Director General Tax. Nevertheless, the cardholders do not need to worry as long as the tax payment has been fulfilled.

Customer: I'd like to close my card since the transaction on my credit card can be read by tax officer.

A: There should be nothing to worry about, considering that the transaction on your credit card will not be related to the amount of tax that should be paid, as long as the obligation to pay tax has been fulfilled by the cardholders. Credit card is only one of the elements for evaluating income and Taxpayer Asset. Data submitted include cardholders’ data and credit card transactions data since 2015. Evaluation by Director General Taxes will be conducted regardless credit card is closed and/or credit limit is lowered.

Credit Limit Decrease
Customer: I would like to ask for lowering down my credit limit. I’m an employee with a regular income. However, if my limit is too high, Director General Tax will question about it.

A: We have set the reasonable Cards credit limit based on cardholders’ income; hence, there is nothing to worry about, as long as the obligation to pay tax has been fulfilled.

Customer: I would like to ask for lowering down my credit limit of Prestige/PremierMiles card or I’d better close it down. I’m an entrepreneur and my limit was set based on my fund in Citigold.

A: The Citi Prestige/PremierMiles card has a certain minimum credit limit. If you still want to change the card, I’d recommend Citi Reward Card/ Citi CashBack Card/ Citi Telkomsel.

Customer: I worry that I will be summoned by Tax department, because my friend, whose limit is only 10 million, has received a letter from tax department, so I will close down/ lower down my limit.

A: Bapak/Ibu, the tax letter usually is limited to certain cases. As long as the cardholders have paid the tax and the credit limit is given based on the data of cardholders’ income, then there is nothing to worry about.

Customer: I’m afraid if I get my payment delayed in one of my credit cards, and if I did not submit my tax, my fund in the bank will be blocked.

A: That issue is not included on the Ministry of Finance Regulation (PMK) 39/PMK.03/2016 on Obligations of Card Issuers to Report Cardholders’ Transaction Data to the Director General Tax; therefore, cardholders do not have to worry about the blocking due to the regulation.

Customer: I’m afraid that my credit card limit will affect my husband’s tax.

A: (if the NPWP is separated from the husband) – The obligation of your husband’s tax payment will not be affected by you, and there should be nothing to worry about as long as you fulfill the obligation to pay tax.

(if the NPWP is under the husband’s name) – the credit limit is set to the cardholders which is based on the customers’ income; therefore, if the NPWP is the same and the cardholders have fulfilled the obligation to pay tax, then there should be nothing to worry about.

Customer: I’m a Citibank loyal customer. If the situation is like this, I will move to other banks’ credit card.

A: Thank you for your kind loyalty. The issuance of Ministry of Finance Regulation (PMK) 39/PMK.03/2016 on Obligations of Card Issuers to Report Cardholders’ Transaction Data to the Director General Tax is imposed to all credit card issuers without any exception.
